SEED-lings

Just imagine planting all these out in the garden.
I wish I could fast-forward a few years but just to have a look and then come back.

First, and most important, Cardiocrinum giganteum. It's started popping up in two pots but with my lousy "record keeping" I can't tell it's from two different batches or from the same. Well, the conditions were the same. Out on the balcony in summer and in the fridge in winter. So, no FREEZING for these.
I also have one or two pots out in the garden, sujbect to most elements (except rain/snow).
Wondering if anything should come up in those.

Next, these cute Lilium regale (from the 10 or so batches I purchased). Germination in the kitchen. The first ones, from the epigeal germination seeds.

Next, huge success with Fritillaria persica seeds - this is the pot kept on the balcony but has not frozen given the warm-ish winter we had.

And I can't forget the NOID huge seedhead Allium  - so crammed I will soon have to come up with an idea.

Arisaema ringens - update 28.02.2013

About 3 weeks have passed since the "potting" and here it is today. I sneaked inside and I could see there's going to be 2 leaves.
Well, I am more anxious about the flower, if we can call it that :)

Well, rabbits

Yes, we have rabbits. By we, I mean me and my family. I just love rabbit babies. I could just eat them, they're that cute :)

Last February weekend

Today Saturday, I had a chance to take a few pics around the garden. Check this!

Cute snowdrops - more drops than snow this winter

My tree peonies are looking better than ever. I can't wait to actually see what color they are. I planted two in the garden a couple of years ago, and they are probably the same color.

Allium success

I got this huge Allium seed head from a friend. Forgot where he got it. Irrelevant anyway.
Problem is I got lots of seedlings but I have no idea what kind it might be. Irrelevant again... for that huge size, who cares? It must look nice when it's in full bloom!

So... I sowed a bunch of seeds in a small tray thinking "whatever!" but now I feel sorry I didn't choose something larger.

I also scattered lots of seeds out there in the garden. Wondering what's gonna happen to those seeds. If they all germinate, I'll have way too many "onions"!

And here's where these all came from

Arisaema ringens from JAPAN

I'm very proud of this, it's a huge rhizome and I promise to make it bloom.
Since I managed to kill two Arisaema griffithii as I planted them out in the garden and the 2011 winter proved to "cold" for them I decided no more weird plants.
But here I am, bragging about this!
When I opened the box and saw it, I was "WOW" and instantly made up my mind to do my best to accommodate it as best I can.
I went out to a nearby park with some trees and gathered some top soil mixed with leaves, mixed it with some vermiculite, potting mix and sand and after "roasting" it in the oven for a while, I planted the Arisaema in it.
